• Community Club Activities


    The following is a list of Community Club activities.  Other activities may be added and additional help is always needed with smaller tasks as they arise.  We welcome volunteers that are interested in chairing or assisting with any of the below activities!  Unless otherwise indicated, all activities are held at all three schools.

    Box Tops - (monthly) “Box Tops for Education” donations are made throughout the year.  Volunteers cut, sort, and submit donated box tops.

    Christmas Cookie Walk - (Christmas) Christmas treat trays are assembled and given to all teachers and staff.  Volunteers donate baked goods, assemble and deliver trays.

    Hospitality Committee - (monthly) Minor housekeeping of teacher’s lounges; provide a small monthly treat or activity for teachers and staff to acknowledge our appreciation.  Volunteers assist with planning activities.

    Birthday Board - (Fall) Families are given the option to advertise their child’s birthday on the McGaughey Elementary digital sign.  Volunteers will assist with coordinating the information to provide to the school. (Cost $10.00)

    Spirit Wear - (Fall) Orders are taken for Mt. Zion Braves apparel and associated items.  Volunteers assist in sorting and distributing orders.

    Teacher Appreciation Week - (Spring) A week of treats, gifts, and activities for the teachers and staff.  Volunteers assist with the preparation.

    Grandparent’s Day - (Fall) Grandparents are invited to the schools to visit their grandchild in their classroom.  Volunteers escort grandparents to classrooms and provide hospitality services.

    Hercules Challenge - (April) One Mile Color Fun Run for the entire community.

    Red Ribbon Week - (Fall) A week of activities for the national Drug and Alcohol Awareness campaign designed for elementary children.  Volunteers assist with activities/themes.

    Play Day - (Last week of school) A day of games and activities to celebrate the end of the school year.  Volunteers assist with planning activities, set up/tear down, short shifts helping with games and activities.

    School Directory - (Fall) Families are given the option to be included in the school-wide directory.  Volunteers will assist with data entry.

    Winterfest – (November) An evening of activities and games for 4th-6th graders at Intermediate.

    Fall Festival - (October) Carnival games and activities for children, silent auction, and food.  Volunteers will assist with set up/tear down, game or activity supervision for short shifts, and kitchen help.

    Spring Fling – (April) An evening of activities and games for 4th-6th graders at Intermediate.

    Mt. Zion Grade You Rock Club - (Quarterly – MTZ Grade only) A reward activity for good behavior during the quarter for Mt. Zion Grade students.  Volunteers will assist with games and activities for short shifts.

    Father/Daughter Dance  - (Spring) A father/daughter dance event.  Volunteers will help plan, set up/tear down, shifts helping with ticket sales and entry, and refreshments.

    Santa Shop - (Christmas) Items are available for the children to purchase for their family.  Volunteers assist children with their shopping lists and collecting money.

    Mother/Son Event– (Fall) A mother/son themed activity.  Volunteers will help plan, set up/tear down, shifts helping with ticket sales and entry, and refreshments.
