As a school social worker, Mrs. Fitzpatrick-Hovey supports students who may benefit from extra attention to their academic, social or emotional functioning in order to become more successful learners.  Mrs. Fitzpatrick is part of the educational team, working with teachers, students and families in hopes of making school a more successful experience for all students.

She has her Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.  She graduated in 1994 with a specialization in mental health and returned to school to become school certified in 1996.  She has been at Mt. Zion Intermediate since 1997, where she feels very fortunate to be able to assist students in the Mt. Zion District.

In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her four children and family, coach softball and enjoys trying out new recipes with friends and family.
